Sculpting

Here is a wip of my sculpt. I built a base for the dress and boots in Maya. I then used mesh extraction for some of the details. More to come after work...meh

Base

I completely forgot to post my progress here. Here is my base mesh. I wanted to take time and really plan out my topology. It took some time to do the hands but I think they should work fine.

Angel-draft colors

I decided to make an attempt to paint this one without under-painting. It took longer but I really need the practice. I'll finally get to modeling now.

On an unrelated note, there is going to be a napoleon dynamite animated series...DO NOT WANT!!!!

Angel-Concept sketches

So I had another go at Angel. The first one I did for my independent study was so crappy...aw well time to rectify that. Tried to actually take into consideration where she lives(which I haven't named yet), what she would normally be doing, and her personality.

Don't know which outfit I'll do first (I am quite partial to the left one tbh)

Colors will come next since I've been in a real painting mood as of late; although Skyrim is eating up my time.

Drawing from the tablet

My final for my drawing from the tablet class. Had a lot of fun with this one

Overall the class was great. Learned a good amount about how to approach a painting; something I really felt I needed. I feel Like I can start making more colored paintings...I'm gonna do that now

Will most likely put up other assignments on here(already have most up on deviant art)

Angel Wip - Angel

Just a quick wip while I work out the color scheme for the character...

Progress...again

Ok! Model 2 is done and done. Got the normal mapping working perfectly with this one.The hair however is weird on it...there's clipping that occurs during the render; probably because of the displacement. All in all it went very well; got a good system for making and baking normals and learned a lot about the hassles of working between several programs. Now that I actually have a good workflow foundation I can start making more models and building up on it.

The first two are my painted sculpts; and the others are the baked normals in max...which oddly enough look vastly different rendered out as jpegs as opposed to the way they look the viewport.
